Macarena Arroyo Marín, born in Jaén, moved with her family to Estepona when she was very young. The Simón Fernández School and the Monterroso Institute, where she graduated with honors, were the two cornerstones of her education as she pursued her law degree and passed the competitive examinations for judges and prosecutors. In 2012, she returned to her hometown, Estepona, with her husband, Fernando Bermúdez, a notary, and their son. It was also the birthplace of her youngest daughter.
Currently, as Chief Anti-Drug Prosecutor of the Campo de Gibraltar, she feels that among her duties is "to protect our children and young people from the harm that drugs do."
