The City Council opens registration for the 15th Tapas Route 'Saborea Estepona', which will be held from April 17th to 19th
The establishments participating in the 'Best Tapas 2026' competition will be eligible for €3,500 in prizes. Registration will remain open until March 27th.
Estepona, March 2, 2026 – The Estepona Town Hall announces that registration is now open for the 15th Tapas Route, "Savor Estepona," part of the "Estepona Lives Its Streets 2026" cultural event, which will take place from April 17 to 19. This event aims to promote the town's culinary culture and the popular tradition of tapas, while also showcasing and highlighting Estepona's gastronomic offerings.
As in every edition, bars and restaurants located in the Municipality of Estepona will be able to register for the Tapas Route, and will also participate in the 'Best Tapas 2026' competition.
Both the rules and the registration form are available on the Notice Board of the City Hall's Electronic Office. Registrations can be submitted electronically through the City Hall's General Registry until March 27th of this year.
Participating establishments will be eligible for three prizes of €1,000, €500, and €250 for the best tapas chosen by customers through a popular vote, and another three prizes of the same amounts for the best tapas chosen by a professional jury comprised of individuals with recognized experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Therefore, a single tapa may be eligible for two prizes, one in each category. In addition, the three establishments with the most votes will be recognized with a plaque by the City Council.
Participants will offer the tapa + drink (beer, soft drink or water) for €3.50 and tapa + wine for €4.50 during the established hours: Friday, April 17, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and Sunday, April 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Among other sponsors of the Tapas Route, Frutas & Verduras Acosta will give each participant €100 in purchases of their products, for the preparation of their tapa.
As for the public, in addition to experiencing the excellence of local cuisine at affordable prices, they can participate in the 'Best Tapas 2026' competition and a raffle for attractive prizes. To do so, the 'passports' must collect at least three stamps from different establishments registered on the Tapas Route and be deposited, duly completed, in any of the ballot boxes provided for this purpose at the Tourist Office in Plaza de las Flores, or at the Cancelada Town Hall.
